There are three distinct types of 40K hand guns available from APS:

• Conventional Dump Style models, which use the quick change cartridge* overhaul system, which has become an industry standard.
  
  
• Air-powered rotary barrel guns, which are in the APS COBRA series of guns.
  
  
• Air control guns, which uses a self rotating nozzle.

Dump Style 40K guns are provided with 48” barrels, for operator safety and simple in the field cartridge rebuild, taking 30 seconds or less. Comfort-contoured shoulder stocks and lightweight (12 lbs.) make these guns a popular choice. Dual trigger operation is also available. This gun is ideal for use with the self rotating Barracuda nozzle.

APS COBRA rotary barrel guns deliver outstanding efficiency and performance in a lightweight (11 lbs) easy to handle tool. Designed for pressures to 40,000 psi, the air motor and forward trigger work in unison to control the Ultra High Pressure (UHP) flow. The smoothly rotating precision ground barrel is stabilized by a front ball bearing assembly. There is a wide range of nozzle heads available for this gun.

The new Air Control Gun brings ultra simplicity to a 40,000 psi tool. The interconnected dual air triggers are mounted directly to the barrel, which carries a Barracuda self rotating nozzle. With both air triggers activated, an air signal is sent to the remote control valve to start and stop the UHP water flow.

40K Double Dump Gun Style Control Guns

• There is an increasing demand for the extra safety of control guns which incorporate dual dump ports. The Advanced Pressure Systems 40K Double Dump Control Guns feature this added security together with the ergonomic advantages and operator comfort of a specially designed front handle.
• This handle is at right angles to the axis of the barrel, which conforms to the natural alignment of the hand and arm of the operator. Some other guns simply use two standard handles, which are cumbersome, uncomfortable to use and are heavier.
• All feature the Easy-Change Cartridge for field overlaul in 30 seconds or less using common tools.
• The APS Double Dump Guns are available in 3/8" barrel size for 15K, 9/16" MP barrel size for 20K, and 9/16” HP barrel for the 40K.

APS COBRA Rotating Barrel UHP Rotary Control Gun

The APS COBRA is an air-operated control gun with a rotating barrel. The simple robust design, combined with the high quality of manufacture, makes this the perfect tool for Ultra High Pressure Jetting applications. When used together with our Tri-Mode Control Valve, the combination is the most cost effective and easy to use and maintain system on the market. It is ideal for the removal of paint and corrosion leaving a white metal finish, which is ready for coating.

Water jetting at ultra-high pressures produces a surface which is equal to NACE No. 5/SSPC-SP12. Many of the major coating and paint manufacturers recommend the use of water jetting for surface preparation, and they produce coating products especially formulated for surfaces prepared by this method. The environmental advantages of high pressure and ultra-high pressure water blasting for industrial cleaning are widely recognized, making it the preferred method for many important industries.
